I’m Verity, a UX designer with a passion for creating meaningful, intuitive, and inclusive digital experiences. With a background spanning UI/UX design, front-end development, accessibility, and data visualisation, I bring a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving. My work is driven by empathy, research, and a commitment to ethical, user-first design that makes technology more human.

Transitioning from front-end development to design, I’ve honed my ability to bridge the gap between technical feasibility and user needs. Whether leading UX overhauls for government platforms, refining accessibility for diverse audiences, or crafting data-driven insights, I strive to deliver solutions that are both innovative and impactful. My background in the arts informs my creative approach, allowing me to design experiences that not only function seamlessly but also resonate on an emotional level.

2025 - Present

Senior UX Designer/Front-end Developer | Department of Employment and Workplace Relations

As a Senior UX Designer and Front-end Developer at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, I help steer projects across the education portfolio, turning early-stage ideas into tangible, user-focused solutions. My work spans user research, engagement planning, and prototype testing, alongside front-end development to ensure designs are faithfully brought to life.

I enjoy translating concepts into compelling visuals, including proposals, presentations, and interactive designs that clearly communicate ideas and align with project goals. Accessibility is central to my approach, and I apply best practices to create inclusive experiences from the outset. 

2023 - 2025

Associate Design Consultant | NCS Australia

As an Associate Design Consultant at NCS Australia, I applied my expertise in UI/UX design, front-end development, and accessibility testing to create impactful solutions for clients in government, healthcare, and retail. I led teams, worked closely with stakeholders, and tackled complex design and development challenges to deliver user-friendly, inclusive digital experiences.

Projects ranged from overhauling government websites to improving accessibility for thousands of users. Notably, I led a design team to transform a 4-year developer-led project into a deliverable product in just three months, producing personas, user journeys, and high-fidelity mockups aligned with enterprise systems.

Alongside design, I supported content audits, accessibility testing, and prototyping to ensure seamless user experiences. Whether running discovery workshops, refining UI, or styling front-end components, I maintained a user-first approach that aligned client goals with design excellence and innovation.

2021 - 2023

Graduate Developer | Dialog IT Australia

At Dialog, I specialised in front-end web development, Power BI reporting, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions. I was the go-to Power BI expert, creating custom dashboards and reports that provided actionable insights for clients in retail, healthcare, and agriculture. I also developed responsive user interfaces for websites and applications, combining technical skills with UX principles to deliver intuitive digital experiences. For three yearlong projects, I built Microsoft Power Apps and Dynamics 365 solutions to help clients streamline business processes and improve their technology systems. These experiences honed my ability to solve complex problems while delivering high-quality solutions tailored to user needs.

2022 - Present

University of Sydney | Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design)

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Design with a focus on Interaction Design, expected to complete in 2027. This program has deepened my understanding of how people interact with technology and taught me to design intuitive, human-centred experiences. Through design studios and hands-on projects, I’ve honed skills in user experience design, interactive product design, and information visualisation. Combining technical expertise with social and ethical design principles, this degree has allowed me to explore my passion for problem-solving and creativity. It has also been instrumental in my transition from front-end development to a career centred on creating meaningful digital experiences.

TAFE | Diploma of Website Development

I completed a diploma in Web Development, where I gained hands-on experience in creating dynamic websites, crafting user-friendly designs, and solving client challenges. The program strengthened my technical skills in coding and UX principles, laying the foundation for my first role as a graduate developer.
